NPC 2012 – Nuclear Plant Chemistry Conference
24 to 28 September 2012, Paris
Paris will host in 2012 the International Conference on Water Chemistry of Nuclear Reactor Systems. Biennially held, and following NPC 2008 Berlin and NPC 2010 Quebec, the French Nuclear Energy Society (SFEN) will organize NPC 2012 Paris. The conference is a major event for the Nuclear chemistry and radiochemistry International Community. It deals with research and new developments, operating experience and optimization, material long life duration and new environmental rules.
A four-day conference of single sessions with parallel poster session from Monday to Thursday, September 24-27, and an Electrochemistry & Radiation Workshop on Friday, September 28.

NUWCEM 2011 - 1st International Symposium on Cement-based Materials for Nuclear Wastes
11 to 14 October 2011, Avignon Popes’ Palace (France)
Cementation is a widely applied technique for the conditioning of low - and intermediate - level radioactive wastes. However, specific issues have still to be addressed, such as the limitation of adverse cement-waste interactions which may affect the quality of the resulting solidified waste form, or the understanding and prediction of long-term properties of the waste packages and cement barriers. There is also a need for safe processes minimizing the production of secondary wastes.
The objective of the symposium, organized by CEA and SFEN, is to promote the exchange of advanced information on the ongoing research and development activities dealing with cementation of nuclear wastes, from elaboration of waste packages to their final disposal.
Symposium : Avignon Popes’ Palace – 11 to 13 October, 2011

ICEM 2011 - International Conference on Environmental Remediation and Radioactive Waste Management
25-29 September 2011, Reims (France)
ICEM’11 was the fourteenth in a series of international conferences on environmental remediation and radioactive waste management organized by the ASME and other technical societies. The ASME and SFEN coordinated the 2011 edition.
Organization :
This conference was jointly sponsored by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Société Francaise d’Energie Nucléaire (SFEN). ICEM’11 was also organized in cooperation with the US DOE, NRC, EPA, the UK Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), along with the IAEA and several other major international technical societies and governmental agencies.

ICAPP 2011 - International Conference on Advances in Nuclear Power Plants
2-5 May 2011, Nice (France)

About the meeting :
The 2011 International Congress on Advances in Nuclear Power Plants (ICAPP) reviewed the recent evolution in reactor physics, thermal-hydraulics, materials, operation and maintenance, safety and licensing of NPP. The fuel cycle and waste management strategies are intimately part of the overall picture raising near term deployment stakes such as environment, public acceptance and non-proliferation issues. Also, the long term sustainability challenge was emphasized through the many alternative designs including innovative fast reactors concepts and dedicated non-electrical systems.
A special Session was dedicated to Japan, following the Fukushima Daiichi accident.
